You can now book online for The Little Sweep and The Hiding Tree.
Treat yourself to an end of term entertainment with Cambridge Youth Opera’s new double bill: the European première of The Hiding Tree by Edward Barnes and Benjamin Britten’s much loved The Little Sweep. Both operas are designed with families in mind and are suitable for all ages.
Performances take place on 26, 27 and 28 March at 19:30 in the Auditorium of Fitzwilliam College Cambridge.
CYO is funded through grants and donations. Your donation will help us provide quality coaching for our participants, build sets, make costumes and props, support young musicians and artists, and keep our activities free and open to anybody who wants to take part.
Do you love to sing, act, play an instrument, or work backstage? With CYO, you’ll experience all the elements that go into staging an opera. You don’t need to know anything about opera to join us, but what you find out might surprise you! You’ll have the chance to learn from professional coaches and take part in shows which are exciting for participants and the audience.
Our members are mostly between 12 and 21 and come from Cambridge and the surrounding area. We sometimes need older or younger singers, so check the information about each production.
Our activities are open for everybody. We don’t charge for participation.
