CYO’s Digital Opera Making workshops were the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
Help us bring The Little Black Cat to life! We are currently actively fundraising to support our new production of The Little Black Cat, a brand new opera written by members of CYO. We’ll be working with the Norwich Puppet Theatre, with performances planned for Spring 2023.
CYO broadens the creative horizons of young people through opera. We build a foundation of inspiration, exploration and self-expression, enabling each young person to find and own their individual artistic voice. We don’t charge for participation in our core activities, or place any barriers to access.
From November 2021 – February 2022 we worked with 20 young people aged 11 – 19 to create a brand new opera, The Little Black Cat.
We’re working with the Norwich Puppet Theatre (NPT) to make our young people’s vision a reality on stage, but we need your help.
In the face of a world where music education is increasingly stripped back, we are planning a future for CYO which addresses the whole life cycle from childhood to the point when young artists take their first step towards a career and with our young people at the centre of everything we do.
CYO feels like home
We welcome a diverse range of children and young people and work with partners and practitioners from across our community. Everyone is welcome to take part and what young people find out about the arts and themselves is often surprising and inspiring.
Love to make sing, act, design, work backstage, compose, write, dance? CYO has a place for you. Please fill in the registration form and we’ll be in touch about upcoming projects!
CYO is growing and developing – we are putting plans in place to enrich the lives of more children and young people than ever. There has never been a better time to support our work
We’d love to hear from you, whether you have a general enquiry, want to find out more about specific aspects of our work, or would like to find out more about how you can help.
